Two accompany

This is just about two identical Yixing teapots in my collection. What is interesting is that they were made by two different potters. They are no ordinary teapots as the makers are now famous Senior National Craftmasters in Yixing.

How come these two teapots could be made by both Senior Craft Masters? Were they copying from each other? Let me explain.

In the early days, both potters were just craftsman or craftswoman working in the Yixing factory. At that time, the factory produced teapots f or export. It was in the early 1990s when I spotted them in a garage sale at a shop that was relocating its business. Hence I got both pots at a very low price.

Guess who the potters are. They are 高湘君 and 徐元明. If you check the Who's Who in the Yixing County, you will find their names listed in the Senior Craftmasters list. Can they be faked teapots? Absolutely not. The shape and clay of the teapots are evidence of pots made in that period.
Identical Twins

Can you tell which one is made by 徐元明 and which one is made by 高湘君?
The one with a string tying the lid to the handle is made by高湘君.
